read logs and download artifacts

Inspect a job and retrieve the outputs selected for collection.

For: Rust developers exporting job outputs

reviewed 2026-10-06 · versions & availability

Retrieve compiler output and selected files from a Sorus job. You need its job identifier, access to the job and an unexpired artifact selection. Replace angle-bracket placeholders with values from your job.

logs

Run cargo sorus logs <job> to read the job’s output. If it is still running, use cargo sorus status <job> to follow progress.

For structured job evidence, use the operations in the API reference. Check log retention separately from artifact retention.

artifact selection

Select the files to collect when submitting the job:

  1. Add --artifact selections using the syntax and accepted paths in the CLI reference for your release.
  2. Set --artifact-dir if you need a specific download destination.
  3. Submit the supported Cargo invocation and retain the job identifier.

Only selected files are exported. If a needed file was not selected, do not assume that a successful build exported the whole target directory.

download artifacts

List the job’s artifacts:

cargo sorus artifacts <job>

Use the returned attempt and index values to download a file:

cargo sorus artifacts <job> <attempt> <index> <file>

Replace <file> with a new destination filename. Retrieval verifies the data and refuses to overwrite an existing destination; choose another path if the file already exists.

retention

Download required artifacts before 24 hours from original job admission. The window includes execution time. Copy release artifacts into your own durable storage.

Confirm artifact selection and retention against your beta release and agreement before making this part of a release workflow.
